Child Abduction Case

A returning client who had put their trust in us from earlier investigations we conducted for them got in touch with us requesting urgent help on behalf of a non-English speaking close family member of theirs.

The family members’ 11-year-old son had physically and in theory been abducted by his biological father with strong concerns they had fled to a different country without prior consent from the boys’ mother.

The father and son had initially gone on a consented 3-day holiday to an overseas country. However, they did not return to the family home after the 3 days. The father and son were both uncontactable, and the mother feared the worst. A few weeks had passed by with no contact from the father or son.

We were asked to conduct a skip trace of the father in the USA. We had confirmation from international travel records that the father had boarded a flight from the holiday destination country and had arrived at an airport in the USA on a particular date. The father’s international travel records also showed 3 separate arrivals and short stays in the USA during the previous 3 years.

We were able to locate a potential residential address for the father and the father’s girlfriend, both of which were in the same state in the USA. We then proceeded to engage the services of a Californian private investigator who was able to run some checks on vehicle registration plates of vehicles which were present at one of the addresses we had provided to them.

The vehicle checks came back as one vehicle each being registered to the father, and the father’s girlfriend. Subsequent covert surveillance was conducted by the Californian private investigator at one of the addresses we provided. The surveillance footage captured depicted the father, the son, and the father’s girlfriend, entering, exiting and residing at the residence in California.

The evidence was sent to our returning client’s family member who was overwhelmed with emotion after watching the video footage of her son, and now able to know his whereabouts after not seeing or hearing from him for many weeks.

Information surrounding the backstory and the father and son’s whereabouts were passed to authorities in the USA.
