Skip Trace Brisbane & South East Queensland
Experienced Brisbane and South East Queensland Skip Trace Service.
Your Trusted Brisbane and South East Queensland Private Investigator for Finding People
As a professional skip tracing specialist, we provide a thorough and prompt service to find people not only throughout Brisbane and South East Queensland but anywhere in Australia.
We locate current residential addresses for individuals and residential or commercial addresses for businesses.
First and foremost, we consider operational security before commencing our research to ensure the investigation is conducted safely and discreetly, minimising the risk of alerting the individual or business being researched.
We use the most up-to-date investigative tools, techniques and methods to find someone. Private investigators also have access to specialised people-related information databases that are not available to the general public. These databases can provide a valuable starting point for an investigation, identifying information and potential leads that can then be assessed, analysed and investigated further where appropriate.
Wherever possible, manual checks are conducted to verify the accuracy of results. If the information can be successfully verified, we consider it a successful find or locate. If we cannot manually verify the information, the skip trace is considered a partial find or locate.

What is a skip trace?
A skip trace is the process of finding the current whereabouts of a person.
The skip is the person who is believed to have skipped town, evaded responsibilities, gone off the grid, or otherwise become unreachable. Often involving people who are avoiding financial obligations, and who remain unresponsive despite attempts to contact them using last known contact information.
The trace is performed by licensed private investigators and private detectives, professional skip tracers, mercantile agents and debt collectors, law enforcement, and real estate skip tracers.
Skip tracing is also referred to as a people search, people trace, find a person, locate a person, people find, or the tracking down of an individual.
What’s involved in a skip trace?
A skip trace involves searching for information about an individual or a business from public and private records, whether digital or otherwise. The information gathered is then analysed, any actionable leads are investigated, and finally, the accuracy of the information is manually verified to achieve a successful find or locate.

- Members of the Australian public.
- State-wide Law firms.

- Find or locate a current residential or commercial address to facilitate the service of legal documents.

- Find an ex-partner who has failed to make child support payments.

Have you had a skip trace conducted without the result you expected?
Not all skip traces involve the same level of investigation. Database searches can provide a valuable starting point, but they are only one part of the process.
We regularly assist clients who have previously engaged another investigator or agency and feel that the available information, potential leads or avenues of enquiry were not investigated as thoroughly as they expected.
Our approach is to conduct a thorough investigation, assessing and analysing the information discovered and investigating relevant leads and appropriate avenues of enquiry. Wherever possible, findings are manually checked and verified for accuracy before being reported to the client.
We cannot guarantee that every person can be located, but we believe that if an investigation is worth doing, it is worth doing properly.

Is it legal to have a skip trace conducted to find a person?
Yes, it is legal to have a skip trace conducted if performed by a licensed and qualified professional and for a legitimate and called for purpose. Attempting to do this on your own could lead to legal action, such as stalking or harassment charges.
How long does it take to find a person?
A skip trace can vary in duration, ranging from a couple of hours to however long is needed. Each skip trace case is unique, and the time needed to find a person varies from case to case. The time can be influenced by two factors.
- The amount of information and quality of information you can provide the investigator about the person.
- The availability and type of information that can be found.
In most instances, we can provide a report detailing the results of the skip trace within 48-72 hours, sometimes faster.
What kind of information will I need to provide?
To get started with a skip trace, minimum information of a given name and a surname is required.
Providing more information upfront can help the investigator and often speed up the process. More information about the person may be included but is not limited to.

No, we cannot guarantee a successful find.
It would be unethical and dishonest to make such a claim. Whilst we support a high success rate when it comes to finding people, the simple truth is not everyone can be found.
Do you offer a No Find-No Fee Service?
No, we do not offer a No Find-No Fee Service.
You’re paying for a professional service, and the investigator needs to be compensated for their time and associated costs in providing the service, regardless of the outcome of the skip trace.
